I wish she would embrace me,
Let me slip further into her arms.
Cradle my head on her shoulder,
As the tears fall silently downwards.
The gates of my heart are broken,
Feelings rushing outwards unbidden.
The sobs shaking my crumbling frame,
And all dignity flees from my shame.
Her hand runs soothingly through my hair,
A whisper creeps into my unhearing ear.
Her warmth smothers the edges of me,
