I SAW AN AWESOME SIGHT,
A PARADE OF ULSTER VOLUNTEERS,
WITH THEIR BADGES SHINING BRIGHT.
A FEARLESS BAND OF FIGHTING MEN,
IN LINE PREPARED TO FIGHT,
TO KEEP OUR ULSTER'S HERITAGE,
AND DEFEND OUR BRITISH RIGHTS.
BUT AS I STEPPED UP CLOSER ,
AND THEIR FACES I DID SEE,
A CHILL RAN CROSS MY SHOULDERS,
AS THEIR NAMES THEY CAME TO ME.
THESE MEN WHO STOOD IN FRONT OF ME,
