i usually stick to bridleways and logging tacks, so plummeting down a ski slope was a new one on me.
i insisted on using my dad's old cheap bike, even though the local guide offered to lend me something very expensive: i tried to tell him that a proper bike would defeat the object, and he called me a bloody fool.
you know, i do believe he was right, in hindsight.

last year i took a £50 wannabe mountain bike down the black slope at le lioran, massif central, france.
damn near killed myself.
any resulting video footage would quite clearly show that i was hanging onto both brake levers and screaming.
